Trump has repeatedly insisted that he will not release his tax returns.
But he has been under pressure from Democrats to release them.
But the question of whether the president can release his returns has been the focus of intense scrutiny.
As the Trump administration has been struggling with the questions of who can read and write his tax documents, the IRS has been facing a backlash from many Americans.
Democrats and some Republican members of Congress have complained that the IRS is doing too little to protect Americans from potential financial fraud.
At least one Democratic lawmaker said the IRS should be given “the tools to protect the American people from fraudulent schemes” and to crack down on fraudulent tax cheats.
But the IRS Commissioner, Koskinen, has defended his agency’s response to a wide variety of tax-related questions.
“We’re not going to give up on doing a thorough job on all of these questions, but we have to be realistic about the time frame that we have,” Koskinel said in a CBS News interview this week.
The IRS has had an enormous amount of success in its mission. “
We’re going for a long-term approach.”‘
The IRS has had an enormous amount of success in its mission.
So we’re not trying to do anything that’s overly intrusive.
The IRS has an enormous number of cases that it’s successful in.
So I think it’s a very important issue for the American public to understand what is at stake here, what is going on, and why we are doing this.
“And I have to say, it’s an issue that we’ve had in the past. “
The IRS is working very hard to protect all Americans,” Koskynen said.
“And I have to say, it’s an issue that we’ve had in the past.
I think that we take the issue very seriously.”
But many Republicans are questioning Koskiner’s handling of the issue.
In a letter to Koskinet, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) said, “I believe the President’s tax return is an important topic for our nation and the country’s future.”
The IRS commissioner’s letter also said the agency was “committed to the goal of protecting the American taxpayer from tax fraud.”
Kasich’s spokeswoman, Stephanie Cutter, did not respond to a request for comment on the IRS commissioner letter.
But Trump’s former tax lawyer and top Republican donor, David Cay Johnston, said in an interview with Fox News this week that Koskinesh has been slow to take on the fraud issue.
“He has been a total failure,” Johnston said.
The IRS was supposed to begin investigating in May after Trump’s inauguration, but the agency only recently started working, Johnston said, and the agency hasn’t finished any of the work.
“This is going to be a very long and complicated process,” Johnston added.
“I’m sure there are some other things we’re doing.
But this is the most important thing we can do right now.”
