TechCrunch reader Josh wrote in to say that Yahoo is now trying to delete his account from their website and from their app.
“I don’t want to delete the account, I want to just be able to access my Google account from the account,” Josh wrote.
Yahoo said in a blog post that it will delete Josh’s account if he doesn’t get back to them within two weeks.
It says that “the account cannot be accessed by third parties without explicit permission from Yahoo”.
The company has also added a notice to the bottom of the search results to say “we’re aware of the incident”.
Josh has not replied to requests for comment.
