A countdown to New Year was scheduled to start at 9 p.m.
ET Friday on NBC, but that date was changed due to Hurricane Florence and a “very significant change in conditions.”
The change in time caused NBC to cancel the countdown, but the network is working to reschedule.
“Due to a very significant change that has occurred in the New Year, we have decided to move the countdown to an earlier time,” a NBC spokesperson told NBC News.
“The change will not impact our New Year Celebration coverage.
We are working to move it to a different time later this week.”
The announcement was first reported by the New York Post.
The network has yet to comment on the change.
The NBC Countdown: Countdown to New Years Eve, a countdown of the events that will happen in 2016, was scheduled for December 9 at 9:35 p.l.
The countdown ended on Dec. 12.
