What are email filters?
Email filters are rules that you can apply to any emails sent to your account.
You can apply filters to your emails, such as whether they contain attachments, if they contain embedded images or links, or if they include any text at all.
The filters can be applied to all email messages that you send to your email account, including any attachments that are sent to the email account (including attachments sent from your mobile device).
What if I’ve enabled email filters on my account?
If you haven’t enabled email filtering, then you’ll still see the warning in the email inbox when you send an email to an account.
If you’re using an email address that is already configured to send emails, then your email inbox won’t be blocked by email filters.
You’ll see an error message in the inbox telling you that you haven�t enabled email filter on your account, and you’ll have to re-enable email filter.
What if you’ve enabled filters on your device?
If your device is not configured to receive emails, but you still see alerts about email filters, then email filters are disabled on that device.
The email filters will still be enabled if you have an active email account in your device.
If your email filters have been disabled, you’ll see this message: If you are currently using a mobile device to send email to your mobile account, you can try changing your mobile settings to enable email filters in your mobile browser.
If email filters still are enabled on your mobile devices, you won�t be able to view emails sent from an email provider to your device from your email provider.
To change the settings on your phone, go to Settings > Mail & Contacts.
When you switch to the Settings tab, you will see an option to turn email filters back on.
How do I check whether email filters were enabled on my device?
To check whether emails were blocked, you need to enter the email address and the filter type in the “email filters” box, as shown below.
If an email has been blocked, the email filter will not show up in your inbox.
If emails were allowed but the email is still blocked, your email may have been flagged for phoning home.
The following are some examples of email filters that you may see on your devices.
Email filters on iPhone The following email filters may appear on your iPhone: “Allow me to send a link to my website” email, “Allow this email to appear in my inbox” email “Allow you to send attachments” email You can use this email filter to block any email sent to or received by your account that includes attachments.
For example, if you send attachments to your contacts email account and they are forwarded to a phone number, then they will appear in the contacts email.
If the phone number has not been called yet, then the email will not appear in your contacts inbox.

Email filtering on Android The following emails may appear in any Gmail inbox: “A link to a website” link, “A website that has been updated” link You can block this email in your Gmail inbox by typing “notify me about updates” into the search bar, and clicking on the “notifications” link in the confirmation box.

What should I do if I receive an email with an attachment?
If an attachment has been included in your email, and the email has not already been blocked by your email filter, then it is still considered an attachment and may be included in the attachment.
If that is the case, you may have to send the attachment to the contact or the phone numbers associated with the email.
When doing so, you should be aware that it is possible to have attachments blocked or not blocked, and it is important to check that attachments have not already appeared in your account to ensure that the attachment isn’t still present.
If attachments have already appeared, then no attachment has already been sent.
If a link has already appeared to your contact or phone number in the attached email, then that attachment is still in the mail and it should not be considered a threat to your inbox or to your phone number.
